focus on one thing at a time until I get it done

The reference statistics thing is going much better. We are now squarely and officially in the pilot period. Phew.

Next up: Application for Info Lit Immersion program. Also, need to do that old lit search.

Then, I have to get cracking on prepping for next term. Oh, and do everything else :)

Yeah, I’m not very good at focusing on one thing.

This thing is kicking my ass. Specifically, my anxiety is kicking my ass. I am an anxious, irrational, hyperventilating ninny. Even so, I can only put this off for so long. WTF is my problem?

• Write training handout. Also post on work wiki.
• Create glossary.
• Email announcement of pilot period to staff.

Alternatively, I’m considering hiding under my desk. :)

It is all about the grading now. No excuses :)

I’m ready to go to book club for Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Skimmed the play and watched the movie.

After that, there is grocery shopping and cooking.

The big task remains finishing my stupid grading.

• Raked the entire freaking yard. 22 bags of leaves! We got smart this year and hired a teenager to help us, one of our friends daughters. She not only worked hard, but was delightful company.

Okay, that is two things. Hmmm. Plus all the household things we need to do today (laundry, cooking, shopping). I’m not very good at this.

Grading.

Need to get this finished because the new class starts in less than 2 weeks!!!

That is the number one priority for today.

Next: getting ready to leave for Chicago on Tuesday (laundry, packing, errands, etc.), but if I don’t get the grading done now, I know it won’t get done until my return, which is too late.

Grading is hard, man. Especially since the assignments I’ve peeked at look kind of awful, which makes me feel like we somehow failed as teachers. Even the best students didn’t grok some of the major skills we were attempting to teach. I’ll be making big changes next term and possibly grading on a curve. Ugh.
