I’ve found the class I want to take (only $60) but I’ve got to wait til I get an actual job to pay for this! Perhaps in Feburary?

Yesterday I took a 2 1/2 hour class that taught us the basics of threading needles, bobbins and basic stitches on several different types of machines. It was very informative and got us comfortable with using a sewing machine. In the class room next door folks were cutting out patterns to make their first skirts or pants. I am looking forward to taking that class!
I would like to take a sewing class, and plan to do so before the end of 2009. I would really love to be able to alter my own clothes and pursue my creativity in that area. The SO has also mentioned that if I knew how to sew, I could teach him enough to sew his own backgrounds for lighting and interviews – or I could just do it, which may have been his intention all along. Not that I’d mind in the least.

I decided that a sewing class will be my gift to self. I found an affordable class downtown and it meets on Saturdays at 4pm. It starts the second week of January. I am signing up!

taking a class isn’t in my budget right now. so i decided to practice sewing on some old fabric i had laying around and then i hemmed a pair of pants. they don’t look horrible.
I just want to take up a sewing class to advice my sewing. I am self taught and I sew purses, backpacks, totes, my girls outfits like tank tops, skirts and shirts but, I want to take a sewing class just to advice my sewing to make sure everything I am doing right is really write. I’m that type that like to work around the hard stuff and go for the easy stuff. http://www.picturetrail.com/photos/lesalicious
I have taken a couple sewing classes. They were really fun and I learned a lot. However, unless I keep sewing regularly, I forget how to do some things. For example, I haven’t sewn in months and I have no idea how to sew on a zipper and it takes me forever to change the color thread.
I think it’s time to take a sewing class again. What I have noticed is that it’s better -for me, at least – to take classes that involve a project (making a quilt, making a bag, etc.) and then at least something is completed. I can always ask the instructor how to do additional things if I decide to do other projects at home at the same time.
The first two classes I bailed out on should have been an indication from the source… I already know how to sew but I’ve been too lazy to put in the effort to practice it! My next things to do should be using my sewing machine. :)
My boyfriend bought me a sewing machine for Christmas. I have yet to take it out of the box, but I will once this holiday business blows over. I’m real excited to give it a try. It already has its own spot in the study room.
I also signed up for a class. It starts on the 11th! I’ve found awesome fabric to make nifty things with.
This feels like a good thing.
