On the right track, but slowly 17 months ago

Well, I did get the old sewing machine tuned and working, have made curtains for the kids’ rooms, the kitchen and our room, and finished my first patchwork quilt for my daughter’s twin bed. It’s cute, but by no means perfect. I am currently “working” on a quilt for my son- I start, quit, go back weeks later and do a bunch, quit… I’ll finish eventually. It’s a lot of work, and I decided to do denim and cotton this time. He really wants a quilt, though, so I will get it done at the very latest by Christmas, if I can help it.
I started learning to knit, and lost interest as we were in the middle of traveling. I did like it, though, and I am sure I will pick that back up soon.

First, I'm going to have to get organized here. :) 4 years ago

This one’s going to have to go in steps… first thing is I’m going to call the number of a quilt shop I saw in an ad this morning, and find out when they are offering classes. I also need to have someone look at my old, inherited sewing machine and find out if it works or needs a tune-up or something. Maybe I’ll get on Freecycle and ask for a newer one today, and see if anything pops up. My ultimate goal is to make quilts for Christmas gifts (probably for next year, right?) and curtains and a bed skirt for my daughter’s room. And quilts for our beds here. And maybe get good at it and sell a few quilts. And learn to make clothes, so I can sew for my family and maybe make nice things for myself. And just enjoy the process. And knitting- I just always thought that looked like a very relaxing past time. Maybe I want to make an afghan.
