Why are you so persistent in suggesting these goals? I’ve told you – NO!

Okay, now Mr. Magic 8 Ball is mostly repeating himself. I think others have seen the same thing.

• Look back at my life and feel it was worth something
• See “Napolean [sic] Dynamite”
• Buy my mom something special
• Ride across the country on a motorcycle
• Stop answering my phone

1, 2, 4: we talked about these already, Mr. Ball.

3. Always a good idea. Sort of a “be nice to kittens” goal.

5. You assume, Mr. Ball, that I ever started.

• Challenge myself
• Have people round for dinner more often
• Look back at my life and feel it was worth something
• Buy a voodoo doll on Bourbon Street
• Write something. Anything. Sentence. Paragraph. Short Story. Novel. Epic. Anything.

1. Well, I’d like to say I did this already. I will have to think before I mark it “I’ve Done This!”

2. Not bad, Magic 8 Ball. There’s hope for you yet.

3. I don’t like the tense here, Mr. Ball. Could we add “Someday” to the beginning of this goal? You’re creeping me out.

4. Uhm. I’ve bought something on Bourbon Street, but it wasn’t a voodoo doll.

It is still telling me live in a foreign country, watch a space shuttle launch, go on retreat to a zen monastery and graduate college. It is also suggesting that I be more efficient when working. Oh Magic 8 Ball, take thine own advice!

1. Okay, but I would have to move. The mountains are to the east, so sunrises are not seen around here.

2. Ecch. Not my cup of tea at all.

3. An admirable goal. I’m not sure it’s an improvement on “See the Northern Lights” which I have already.

4. Makes me want to be from Israel. Or Lichtenstein.

5. I’ve seen Napoleon Dynamite. It’s pretty funny. I don’t know if “Napolean Dynamite” is any good, though.
