Make a list of songs that cheer me up

I’m going to leave the list here for the time being, but I anticipate I’ll be adding to it in the future. It’s nice to have handy for when I’m feeling a bit blue—I just need to look at it, choose one of the songs and I’m instantly feeling a bit better!

There’s just something wonderfully cheeky about this song. It’s a song just like You Can Leave Your Hat On ... I just can’t listen to it and sit still!

I love the determination in this song. It gets me fired up every time I hear it.

I believe this song was part of the soundtrack to The Beach. I’ve never seen the movie (I hear it’s really weird), but this song certainly makes me think of the beach… the kind with white sand, turquoise waters, lots of sunshine and palm trees. I love the laid-back feeling of this song.

There’s just something sweet and cheery about this song. I quite like the philosophy… but really, any song about quantum physics has got to make you smile.

There can be no other version of this song. No one does it like Joe Cocker. This song instantly brings a smile to my face and makes my hips wiggle… which can be rather embarrassing on the bus.

Since a dear friend of mine introduced me to this wonderful Australian band, many of their songs have cheered me up. I’m trying to restrict my choices to just a few, but I’m sure they’ll crop up a couple of times in this list. I think it is something to do with their cheerful nature and upbeat lyrics.

I was on the bus a few months back, feeling a bit blue. It wasn’t anything too serious, just one of those days when it’s hard to put one foot in front of the other. I was listening to my mp3 player when a song came on which immediately made me smile and feel better. I can’t remember which song exactly, but it occured to me at the time that I should make a list of such songs.

That’s what this goal is about. They’ll follow in no particular order.
