How to get motorcycle operator license
How I did it: I took the motorcycle safety training course in VA the first weekend in August 2008. It gave me the minimum skills I needed to ride. I had never ridden a motorcycle prior to that. I'm a good study, so I did pretty good.
I bought my own motorcycle the last weekend in August. Started riding soon after. I'm really looking forward to riding in the spring.
My wife really helped me achieve this goal by encouraging me to visit online forums related to riding. I picked up several important tips on some of the forums.
Wifey also encouraged me to buy a used bike, because every rider is most certainly gonna drop their bike at least once. Sure enough, I've dropped my bike 3 times now.
Lessons & tips: Take the motorcycle safety training class near you - even if you have to wait a month or so. Read online forums while you wait to take the class.
Start off with a used bike!!!
