find a part time job

.. is now complete and next week I am going everywhere and just drop in my CV. Every shop I can think of and hopefully I will get at least one interview from my efforts.

I’ve had several part time jobs since I was about 17 – I’ve done data entry, IT resume formatting for a recruitment agency, I’ve worked at 2 pet stores in an assistant manager role, done graphic design freelancing, and worked in multimedia development.

None of these have ever been a passion of mine so they’ve just been transitory things. Except perhaps the art thing – I enjoy that, but I find it difficult to view it as ‘a job’ and having to create art on demand for nitpicky clients is a little tiresome.

Since I found World of Warcraft any desire to be out in the workforce has completely dissipated and now I actually feel a little panicky about trying to re-enter it. I’m lucky that I have a caring husband who supports me but I don’t like feeling that I’m just a dependent.

I guess I’ll keep an eye out for something that might interest me. I find it impossible to stay in a job that I dislike as I just get more and more depressed and anxiety-ridden until I turn into a mess.

I just need a job to tide me over until Spring09 semester starts. In our ‘family’ I used to be the breadwinner, up until last November when I left my job to go back to school. Because I was non-matriculated I needed to prove my worth before I could go back full-time, so I did, got a 4.0 last semester and applied for matriculated status. There were some problems with admissions (read my ‘go back to college’ Thing) and I’ll be admitted for the spring semester instead of Fall. So I’m taking a..what..17th semester off?

Thom (my fiance) had just finished his degree and has started making big-boy money, and all we really need is me to pull in a little cash to pay for my car. Only real problem there is I had a job lined up at school, which I can no longer take since I’m not a student. So I got some retail apps…Michael’s Crafts, Barnes and Noble.

Michael’s…is a little sketchy…they want a lot more information than most people for a crap retail job and the manager made me uncomfortable – Thom keeps reminding me I don’t NEED to take a job so I can afford to be picky. We’ll see.

only if my free time after studying allows it without me losing my mind. seems unlikely now, but who knows. if the ebay business goes well and i can be more thrifty, i’ll make it by just fine.

Well, I’ve started my PhD and I’m teaching a couple of classes a semester for a stipend. Oddly enough, I’m bringing in almost as much money per week as my husband!

I’m a SAHM right now, so it will need to be something that doesn’t conflict with my husband’s schedule. I thought I’d found the perfect job, then he went and made a commitment on Wednesday nights, so that’s out. I’ll keep looking. We don’t need the money, but it would help me in my financial goals.

I downgraded in job status due to the corporate evilness of the world. lol. so i need a part time job to make up for it. I was in the middle of renovating my house (but now I lack the funds and its starting to be a pain in my arse!!), I just want to sell and get a small condo but until then I still need a pt job. Im overqualified for everything is that why they wont hire me?

i’ve never worked in my life….except that one time as a ballet accompanist. I shall go apply next week….
