I have arthritis in my back and that’s the reason I couldn’t sleep through the night. After dealing with sleeping issues for quite a few years, I’ve finally managed to sleep through the night again and it’s so so so nice!

I got some valerian (root?) tincture and now I put that in a glass of water and drink it just before bedtime. I’ve had pretty good results with this. I had tried melatonin, which did help me fall asleep, but it didn’t work so well for staying asleep. Also, now even if something wakes me up in the middle of the night, I don’t have trouble getting back to sleep anymore. It’s wonderful. I’m going to keep using this for another week or so, and see if my results are more or less consistent. Then I’ll consider it done.
Oh, but the valerian root tincture is very stinky, be warned! But it smells worse than it tastes, for some reason. Whatever; it works!
Even though this was because of my anti-depressant medication, I’m not complaining. It’s been so long since I’ve had a restful night’s sleep, and when I awake I now feel like I can take on the day without wanting to close my eyes as I walk.
Thank you, prescription medication!
There is no point in lying in bed for hours without sleeping, yet this happens to me all the time. Short of taking Ambien or something equally as addicting, I’ve found the best solution is staying awake until I’m exhausted then taking a hot bath. Keeping the bedroom freezing helps as well, though I wake up with a sore throat. Too much stress causes this, I believe. Perhaps I should start a sleep therapy center.
