oboelicious_INFJHere's my list
http://www.listsofbests.com/list/56928
This was adapted from a list on the double reed site and I’m sure I’ll be adding more to it once I become more personally aware of the oboe world and what is standard. This will just be a nice way for me to keep track of what I’m doing and what music I should buy…etcetera.
I’ve worked on a lot more than what is checked off actually. I’ve completed the checked off stuff but I’ve worked on a movement or 2 of many of the works on here. Maybe I should go back and complete the movements I didn’t work on when I have time. It would be nice to have complete works under my repertoire. And on that note, I may go back and work on stuff I’ve already played, so I can really own and master that piece. I’ve done that with the Poulenc oboe sonata and the Mozart oboe quartet and I’ve matured so much musically since the first time I studied these works. I feel as if I’m doing more justice to the piece and I wasn’t able to do this when I was less musically mature. I’m sometimes torn between forging ahead and really taking the time to go back and mastering pieces I’ve worked on already. I guess for this phase in my development, it would be wise to err towards expansion. 3 years ago
