go to the optometrist

Despite the fact that the chair looks like a torture device, it didn’t hurt at all.

Actually, I just need to go in and get a new perscription so I can buy some more contacts. I’m on my last pair and they’re hurty.

Nothing like procrastinating until the last possible moment with this stuff.

Haven’t seen one in a decade.

Stopped by one place, said it’d cost 100$. Not sure if that’s steep or not. Gotta shop around.

i hate going they’re just going to comment on how bad my eyesight is and i think that i need to get stronger glasses or contacts

I went to the optometrist and it went really well, my eyesight hasn’t changed over the last year so my lenses don’t need changing. And the contacts i’ve been using seem to be working well too. :) Yay! I don’t need to go back for a few years now, before I was going yearly.

I’m making an appointment for next Monday when I go shopping for a ball dress. My optometrist is an hour and a half away from where I live…

My prescription has changed quite a lot, which surprised the doctor but not me. When I told her I actually have to turn my head to see something well, she nodded and then told me an anecdote about her old grandpappy. Sigh. Next time I go back, it’ll be for contacts and not glasses, and I’ll see my real optometrist, the one I’ve been going to since I was 7 or 8 years old. He’s the best.

We picked out some really cute frames – they weren’t Mom’s favorite, but I love them. I can’t wait to get them back, even, since they have a new technology with superlight lenses. When your eyes are -7.25 and -9.00, that’s good to hear.

I have an appointment on Wednesday at 12:30. It’s important to do this before chemo, too. I also want to get new glasses that have good lenses and cute frames. My current ones are from about 2001, and chemo sometimes makes contacts impossible/uncomfortable to wear.

I’m holding off on this because of my job search. Most places seem to offer health/dental/vision right away, so I’m crossing my fingers!

finally got around to this. I found out that because I only have sight in one eye I get free exams every year. This is definitely good news.

I have a followup appointment for another test because my pressure is high and glaucoma runs in the family—and also to get new glasses.
