The best journey ever! 1 week ago

I really surprised Timo with this, i always had it in mind for this years summer, but i knew he´d say no :-)
Sooo- on 5 days notice we did not make a real plan, and on our last evening home we planned how to even start- really good- Timo freaked!
Our route was just spontaneously planned as we liked the places, or the weather, we had our tent to sleep in with us- so no lousy hostels- it was just the best journey ever!
It´s the best way to travel, see things and just to chill… ever.

Outdated 22 months ago

This goal is outdated, I no longer want to travel Europe by train, it was my dream as a teenager, at 17-18 years old but now I’d rather have a city trip here, a wekk there and so on, rather than touring a zillion countries in as little time as possible. Plus I’m turning 26 and the prices won’t be that cheap, especially since you have to pay for accomodation as well….

Itinerary 23 months ago

I would do this kind of route with a pass of 10 days travel in a 22 days period….
DENMARK > ferry > NORWAY – Artic Circle > SWEDEN > FINLAND > ferry > GERMANY (Berlin) > POLAND (express train to Warsaw) > HUNGARY > CROATIA – stay there and visit thoroughly for a week.

That’s do-able in 3 weeks, no?

Interrailing! 2 years ago

I really wanted to do this this summer but unfortunately my travel buddy buggered off. I’m definately shelving the idea for next year though; would like to go down into France, spend a fair amount of time walking in Switzerland (probably around Interlaken) amd then head up into the nordic countries. Better break in my boots again!

Although I did this many years ago I can highly recommend it. It is a great way to see Europe and make friends. I will never forget the ‘international’ footy match in Innsbruck where there were about 15 a side and people from 15 or more countries all having a great time, a long hot weekend in Strasbourg, where the wine flowed and songs were sung (the yoof hostel even had a bar!) and an over night from Italy to Spain.. that I will never forget :) As they says “just do it” I hope to do it again some day..

Interrailing 3 years ago

Me and friends are thinking about travelling with Interrail around Europe next summer. We’re thinking of taking the ship to Venice before the ticket actually is valid, spend 1-2 days there, and then go to France, from there to Belgium and Holland, then to Germany, Czech, back to Germany for a visit to Munich, Austria, Slovenia, and back to Venice. All in one month. I hope we manage to collect the money we’re thinking we’ll spend (about €1000+ each). I can’t wait.

Spring/ Summer 2007 3 years ago

I have already got a copy of Lonely Planet’s Europe on a Shoestring and I will be coming to the end of a contract by April 07 so it’s an opportunity not to be missed. Now all I need to do is decide how long I’m going for and to save some pennies…
