How to set ONLY goals that are REALISTIC & ACHIEVEABLE
How I did it: through experiences of setting unrealistic goals I learned what is realistic, and what is not.
It's great to set very large goals, and essential to break them down into bite sized pieces to ensure building towards something, rather than feeling that the goal has been a failure.
Realistic also has to be based on my present situation - often changing the time I've set to achieve it can bring it from unrealistic to realistic- the goal itself may be realistic to achieve, if I was operating from a particular point, ability, skill level, experience but sometimes it's necessary to obtain this level before the goal can be achieved.
Breaking down goals is essential, as is keeping an update.
Having an accountability partner is very useful
