My art classes, though not having anything to do with photography, have dramatically changed my images for the better. My website is evidence of my transformation, and the walls in my house.

I learned more about photography, I was always amazed by the clarity and beauty of photos by Ansel Adams. I just assumed that he didn’t have photoshop, or anything like that, and they were just straight prints. I’ve since learned that taking the picture is only the beginning of the process. I’m starting to learn what he meant when he talked about visualization. I’m also starting to work on actually printing pictures, instead of just viewing them on my laptop, etc.
I used to be young and foolish, thinking that the pictures had to be perfect right out of the camera. I’ve never been able to do that… and now I’m learning why. A straight print NEVER looks like the object you’re photographing. You have to account for the process in advance, thus pre-visualizing the output.
