go hang gliding

how totally awesome would hang gliding be?
Anybody ever done it?

My dad has a hang glider and I have a cousin that hang glides all the time, I think its awsome and i want to do it too.

I’ve been skydiving and parasailing, but this week’s hang-gliding over Rio de Janeiro was much better. Not only was the view simply amazing, but the “flying” feeling was incredibly calming.

Don’t be scared, just do it!

I think this would be pretty sweet. I have always wanted to know what it is like to be a bird.

Maybe this spring/summer?

I was lucky enough to hang-glide in Rio de Janeiro in winter 2007 and it was amazing. Rio is an incredibly beautiful place, possibly the most visually stunning city in the world, and never more so than from the air.

I did a tandem jump; I was strapped onto a hang-glider with my instructor and on the count of three we ran off the edge of a wooden ramp on the edge of a mountain. It was breathtaking as the glider caught the winds and we were sailing through the air. Below us a mixture of rainforests leading to hotels and beaches, rich mansions to one side, shanty towns sprawled to the other. Rio is a place of great contrasts.

All too soon the flight was over and we came in to land on the beach. It was an incredible experience and highly recomend trying it. Especially if you are in Rio.
