I did it!!!

31 sugar-free days!

Go me!!! 4 years ago

wrenHere it is, Day 26,

and out of the blue, I am experiencing strongish sugar cravings. What the heck is that all about? I will just take note and continue with the plan of making July Freedom from Sugar Month. 4 years ago

wrenSuccess!

Yesterday’s farewell party at work offered a big challenge to my sugar free status in the form of some very tantalizing peanut butter rice krispy treats. As the treats were being cut up and passed around, I knew with absolute certainty that I was physically incapable of eating just a little bit of them. This knowledge helped me say “no, thank you.”

The party was a luncheon party and featured Chinese food, so a lesser challenge was passing on the traditional end of meal fortune cookie.

All told, at day’s end, I chalked up a 23rd day of mighty sugar freeity! 4 years ago

wrensugar freeity update

Nineteen days and counting…! 4 years ago

wrenjust to update

This is 13 days and counting.

It is very impressive to me how much less generally less compulsive I feel without sugar in my system.

It is a good thing to be free of. 4 years ago

wrenfan fare please....

10 days of Sugar Freeity seems like some sort of milestone.

One unexpected result of eliminating sugar from my diet is that I seem to get hungry less often. Hmmmmm…. 4 years ago

wren9 days down, 22 more to go!

Remaining sugar free yesterday took a bit more strength. A random chocolate craving had to be dealt with. And then some very prettily decorated macaroons were served at a late afternoon meeting. Usually I would eat a macaroon just because they were there and because there were pretty. And if that wasn’t reason enough, I was pulling out every trick in the book to stay awake during this meeting, and having a nibble is one that I’ve often relied on in the past.

But I resisted and am proud to say that I remain Mightier Than Sugar for nine full days! 4 years ago

wrenDay 8

is a success!

This one had more potential pitfalls because it was spent at work, which is a sugar minefield. But I was safe behind my armor of fresh fruit and Yogi tea. It felt great to be mightier than sugar! 4 years ago
