write more letters

but I’ve had success with this goal. I’ve written letters to my friend Susan, emails to Kelly, letters to my folks, and emails to my sis. I haven’t started drafting my annual Thanksgiving letter yet, but I’ve been thinking about it! I’m going to take this goal off my list for now; I can always add it back later if I need to!

A couple of months ago, I wrote a letter of gratitude to the health club where a keen-eyed staffer named Katie noticed that I left my wallet and keys in the locker. I let the management know how much I appreciated Katie bringing my belongings intact to the front desk.

Yes indeed, that is a mathematical fact. I recently wrote a letter thanking a friend with whom we stayed during a vacation. The best part of all is that she and I are both serious letter-writers at heart—B.K. (before kids) we would write eachother weekly, long, multi-page letters that rambled about everything under the sun! So naturally, she responded to my recent letter with a lovely letter. It felt SO good to get a real letter! This incident gives me hope that “someday,” when I once again have some free time on my hands, I will write even MORE letters!

I officially sent out 5 letters today :) WOOHOO!

So I was talking to my aunt about writing letters to my friends who are away at college and she says, “I have tons of cute stationary that you can have!” So now I’m all set! I got a list of all of my friends addresses and I’m going to start writing them later today! :) :)

Edit: I have written 5 so far and have 3 to go… It feels so good :)

I found the website postcrossing.com through 43 things, have sent 5 postcards and am awaiting postcards to arrive in my mailbox soon. I like writing to strangers all over the world. It’s helping me deal with my depression by both being a distraction and stops me feeling so alone- I feel included. Plus the awesomeness of gettng snail mail is incomparable.

I already send my friends random letters and postcards.
But my ultimate goal is to do this at least once a week.
It’s good to communicate with people in other ways than the internet or texts.

I want so send some to my grandparents.

The only reason I think I don’t do this very often is because I don’t have a typewriter. I’ve wanted one since I was little. My mother promised me one this summer… but I stll don’t have one.

I will continue to be patient; because everthing happens for a reason.

i love letter-writing. my circle has extended to four penpals now, and it’s just lovely to get letters that are just personal and genuine.

on an unrelated note, but because i thought it was an amazing idea that i wanted to share, i’m telling you a birthday present that i’m doing for someone. it’s one of my closest friends birthday in two weeks, so i’m going to draw him his very own comic packed full of in jokes and meaningful song lyrics and our friends and heart-stopping action! i bought colour pencils today, and i’m all set to get started once i’m done on here. it’ll take forever, but who cares?

Im going to write to my half-sisters, my grandmother, and even one to darling Joshy. This week. They will be posted by friday. I’ll be so bored at work I’ll do it then.
