Mary Robinette Kowal is challeging people to to write 24 letters in February
(one for each day the post office is open that month) and to write back to everyone that writes to you (which can count as one of the 24 pieces).
Anyone up to joining me? 2 weeks ago

I’m actually doing pretty good with this one. Maybe I could write more, but compared to how busy I am nowadays I think that a couple of cards per month is okay. So I’m going to mark this a done! :-) 3 weeks ago

is to just do it. look for a reason to say yes. then have fun making the outside address fun. write it big or small, glue on magnetic letter stickers, use different colours for each letter, change your name, change their name to something funny (Mady => Madelinsky) and go nuts using different salutations (like “His Highness Matt”) and “c/o” (like “c/o Internationale de la Disco Federation”). And when at the post office ask for the “best/coolest stamps” and say “don’t give me stamps that are boring”. Never buy more stamps then needed, so you have to make a new trip to the post office. You’ll end up in a conversation with a stranger (who probably loves stamps) You will have fun. 4 weeks ago

I wrapped this up on 12.1.12. Final note to kids. However, if they respond only by regular post, I will continue to write. Its been a satisfying experience for me and I know they have appreciated it. 4 weeks ago
