release an album

keep on NAMIRA!

I’m doing the RPM challenge this month. The goal: record an entire album in February. It doesn’t have to be slick, it doesn’t have to be well-produced. This isn’t THE album, it’s just AN album.

I released a Progressive Rock/Metal album. Its the first ever work I’m releasing that I feel I am proud of.

Its not a band, just me playing everything. =]

How do u make an album, coz i wanna release an electric guitar song. Im only 10 but really wanna know.

I just dropped my artwork and CD master off to the printers today….phew!!!!Its been such hard work!!!!You need huge amounts of diligence to do this!!!!!

I have so many musical projects I’d like to do, it’s probably over-ambitious. I’d like to release an album with a band, lo-fi garage rock style. I’d like to release a solo album with mostly acoustic material. I’d like to do a collaboration album where I’d write songs with a bunch of my musician friends and have different songwriters and performers on each song (myself being the only constant). And a bunch more.

I should really pick up a cheap 4 or 8 track digital recorder, the prices are becoming more and more reasonable, and with “virtual tracks,” you have a lot of versatility.

I did record one album with my high school band, but it wasn’t actually released. I’d like to see my stuff in stores. I’m really hoping the band thing works out, so I can see some plans come to fruition.

It feels like cheating because sme people have gotten so much further than me. But I don;’t want to be a usic artist. I want to be a teacher. THis is something extra. And as an extra, I’m happy with it.

In pursuit of my other goals, this one’s fallen behind for far too long. Time to clear it off and get more specific. I’ll pick it up again next year, maybe.
