secondoracle is working
I wish you the best. I studied like crazy but didn’t make it. I’ve tested above genius level but just not in math. The test, sadly, is primarily mathmatical.
How I did it: I showed up at the convention, tired and weak. gave them my credit card number so they could charge me for the test. I took the test and felt fairly good about how I did. Then waited two months to get something in the mail that said I wasn't eligible.
Lessons & tips: unless you are sure you'll make it and you've got money to spare it's not worth the money to find out they don't have a place for you in their society.

Lemon_Seed is making a plan for the summer
I think I will do this someday during the summer, just for fun :) I hope I don’t score too bad…

I used to want to do this, but I’m not sure if I want to any more. For one thing, it’s a not-insignificant outlay of cash to take the test, and then there are membership fees every year if you want to join the society proper. Second of all, I think my mind was sharper a few years ago than it is now, and I’m less confident that I’ll pass the test. And third of all…I’m not sure that I really want to take the test. A few years ago, I would have loved to be able to flash around my Mensa membership, but now, it just doesn’t seem as important. I’ll think about it some more over the next couple of months, try a practice test, and see if I’m still willing to put in the time and effort. At the moment, though, my interest is waning.
According to their practice test I stand a pretty good chance of passing their real test. However, I’d really like to brush up on my math skills before going to such a bother. I don’t know my Asquared + Bsquared equals c squared business or any of that.

I took one in my Psych class. It was a predictive test for the actual Mensa test. I scored enough to be in the highest category, which was something like “Very good chance of being a Mensa member”. I really don’t know a lot about Mensa, though. I hope it’s not a bunch of snobs bragging about how smart they are.
Scored a 75 on the home test which would qualify me for membership. My local chapter isn’t testing until Spring, so guess I’ll have to wait until then.
leeroy616 is waiting and waiting AND IS FED UP OF WAITING!!!
the entry level score was 132 and i got 131, although i think i can score higher than that, so i will be trying again next year! and this time i wont travel to nottingham the night before, and i won’t be arriving home at 3am the day of the test…
I’ve always considered myself intelligent and have always tested very well. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. Going to set a goal of having it done by the end of January 2009.
