"I felt really good about it until, I heard that he felt like I never gave him a chance at my store( the truth is If he was transfering he would have to be in position for 6 months to be able to transfer with his position."

How I did it: I took the steps to ensure an employee of mine would receive a promotion shortly after his arrival at another store he transferred to, and it happened.
I started by getting a hold of the store he would transfer to, then called and spoke to the manager, and the DM. I told them that I really felt he desrved it but that he needed to feel like he earned it.. he needed sort of a self esteem booster. They understood it and put the wheels in motion.

Lessons & tips: Just do it, but don't tell anyone no matter how badly you want to, because then it loses all it's power. do it for the betterment of them not for yourself. it's very hard to do this, but quite humbling.

    I was able to anonymously do something for someone that is having a significant positive impact on their life…
    it felt good

    This person has struggled for a long time financially, and yesterday I took the opportunity to “make a payment” for something they owe…this person may never know and definitely will never know that it was me

    felt good to help someone in this way….just give a little bit of space and one less worry in her challenging world…

    I think this sounds a little bit silly, but I have always wanted to buy a car for someone who does not have one !!!

    For many people everyday life is such a struggle…and it would feel nice to give someone who works hard a really great car…one less thing for them to worry about! :)
