Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

sgttoypigmy dream come true! 18945 W FM 8 Lingleville, Texas

for years, about 40 of them, i haved dreamed and worked to see this come through, HA but it has. as a teenager, i went to a high school that had 5 people in my graduating class. our small town consisted of Dempseys gas station, a country store with no name, and a ramble shack restaurant. you could get burgers there and just about anything else you might be hungry for. the place was owned and operated by an elderly couple. they lived in the back. the rest of the town had faded away, leaving the small school and several churches. about 3 years ago, an opportunity to buy the old family restaurant, and we jumped on it. we cleared the old building away, and over the last 2 solid years we have put everything we had into getting a new building up and a new start for the small community of Lingleville Texas. the gas station is gone, but the country store without a name is still going. we have a staff of 13 people now, and hope to expand as the new steak house grows. if you come in on friday nights, we have all you can eat fried catfish. on saturday night we have the steak specials and you will say this is the best steak i have ever had in my life. if you are traveling through rural texas, please look us up. we would love to meet you. we have parking for horses and motorcycles. please add this address to your list of 43 places to visit in your life. 6 years ago
