Simon. instead of making me search all over 43T, Facebook, gmail…
I’ve requested info packs, questionnaires, forms and leaflets from both The National Blood Service and The Anthony Nolan Trust, the UK’s biggest and best known donor programs.
How I did it: I registered to be a bone marrow donor through the Air Force base, but blood banks and hospitals can get you registered too. They just swab the inside of your cheeks, seal it up, and you fill out some paper work. Then if anyone is ever a match, they'll call you. At that point you can decide to go through with the transplant or not, but I know if I am ever called that I will.
I lost a good friend to leukemia, so this is important to me.

They swab your cheeks, and seal it up, and you give them info, so they can contact you if there’s ever someone who’s a match. To find out more, you can look here

Also, we have a fellow 43thinger who is recovering from a bone marrow transplant..http://www.43things.com/subscriptions/person/cancerfree2003
Let’s send her some well wishes, and encourage her to keep fighting.
