take comedy classes

This goal has been up here for 3 years and I’m nowhere near accomplishing this.

I was absent last Tuesday from class. I’m looking forward to this Tuesday!

Last night went really well. All I have to work on is the ending, not rushing through the set, and maybe working on facial expressions. My teacher is Carie Karavas.

I’m very nervous about tonight. I haven’t practiced but the good news is we are getting photos taken tonight for the flyer. I’m excited about that, excited for all of us, most of us are very new to being on stage and comedy.

Last night was ok, this is all a learning experience. I did the same outline as my first time but added a couple jokes and then tried to add funny details. The teacher preferred my set the old way. I got laughs with the new stuff though. The teacher is encouraging the “ditsy girl” stuff that I’m not even trying to do.
We are taking pictures next week for the flyer promoting the show.

I have to say the hardest part is doing the same jokes in front of the same people over and over. I know this is practice but I feel like everyone is bored when they already know what I’m going to say, lol.

I’m so nervous about tonight, I’ve been putting off all week editing my set. My husband doesn’t lol at the jokes and I’ve been feeling unmotivated. We’ll see!

I did a 3 minute set last night, got a bunch of laughs and feel very positive about pursueing this more. I’ve already thought up more jokes to support my set which we are doing again next Tuesday.

The class should be alot of fun. Now I have to write up a 5 minute set to perform in front of the class by this Tuesday coming up.

I’m enrolled! First class is tonight at 7pm.
