I’m planning with my sister to take a cross country road trip from NYC to SF. We’re going to travel down to Nashville, then take route 66 (interstate 40) to the west coast! This is going to be one of the best experiences of my life, and I will be able to sign off on this goal! There are so many stops along the way, but we only have a week to do it (my sister’s spring break), so we have to be selective. We’re thinking a good country bar in Nashville, the hotsprings in Little Rock, the Oklahoma City memorial, Petrified National Forest, Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, a drive through Las Vegas, then a bit of Route 1. This will be the best!!
I have plane tickets to go to California again in 9 days! The toughest part about travelling is you need a job to afford it, and you need time off from that job to do it! I’ve had more days off in the last three months than my co-worker who has worked here a year…He should get away more :)
After completing my graduate college goal, I decided to work on this one. I am so excited to say, CHECK THIS OUT!!
Carolinas Trip:
Georgetown, SC
Myrtle Beach, SC
Huntington Beach State Park, SC
Emerald Isle & Atlantic Beach, NC (not a good beach!)
Currituck to Cape Hatteras, NC. Stayed in Kill Devil Hills, right near the Wright Brothers Museum :)
(Here’s a little secret: On the way to Cape Hatteras, there’s miles and miles of gorgeous unexplored seashore. If you stop on the side of the road and climb the dunes, you will find a nearly private beach with fantastic shells. I found an almost perfect 8” whelk.)
California Trip:
San Jose, CA (Stayed in Sunnyvale)
Palo Alto, CA to see Stanford
San Francisco, CA
Santa Cruz, CA
I have never been to Cali before, and it was so awesome! My boyfriend Jon works out there, so I stayed with him. We also went together on the Carolinas trip. I flew over the Grand Canyon and the Rocky Mountains, and had plane transfers in Las Vegas and Phoenix. I only wish I had more time to see those areas, and I can’t wait til I do!
i have the opportunity to take some time for a roadtrip after i graduate. the question is, where should I go? i am always inclined to go where i’ve already been, but there is so much more than that. one of my friends recommended Glacier National Park in Montana.
I’m from Western New York. Lived half my childhood in Geneva, the other half in Buffalo. Going to school in rochester. I havent been farther west in the US than Alabama, not counting the one layover I had in Houston on my way to Mexico.
I’ve been to NYC once in my life, for 2 days, and a couple weeks ago I had the chance to go back with some friends during spring break. We did fun stupid tourist stuff and hung out with some friends who live there. We walked through the Gates in Central Park. Very interesting, moreso when the wind was blowing through them. I wish we would’ve stopped to see the WTC site tho.
