scrunching my hair while blow drying gives a nice curled look that i like, not the same as using a curling iron but i like the effect

my friend curled my hair yesterday, now i just need to learn how to do it myself :)
I had no idea how well a flat iron can curl hair! I am so excited that I have a new way to wear my hair!! =)

I’ve seen this advertised on tv and it makes it look pretty easy to curl hair… I wonder if its as easy as it looks? and its only around £30 I think
check it out at http://www.youcurl.com
I think I’m finally learning to accept my naturally wavy hair so starting off once a week I’m wearing it natural. Pretty scary considering I feel extremely insecure exposing a side of me I never have before…even if it is my hair :S plus I must curl my damn hair with curling irons!!I’ve tried it once, but nothing happened; NO CURLS…NOTHING!!!!
I tried this a couple of weeks ago, following my friend Kate’s expert advice of spraying the hell out of it and then using a hot iron so that it sizzles and gives you doll-like ringlets. It didn’t work. I think part of the problem may be that I have a cheap curling iron—maybe it doesn’t get hot enough to make my hair curl?
i was so proud i put up that picture! haha but it doesnt do it justice it looks way cuter in life hehe .. my advice: go to cvs pharmacy and get the cvs brand one inch curler .. its 9 bucks and it has a 2 yr warranty! plus it really works :) the longer you hold the hair in the curlier and prettier it is .. keep it in for like 30 sec to 1 min … get the longest layesr of your hair first, then when you’re all done, get half inch strands of the outer most layer and set with hairspray .. it works guys! :D
I’m a hair idiot, having had extremely short hair for the vast majority of my adult life, and having had little occasion to learn to curl my hair for the remainder. The only reasons I might need to these days are for photoshoots and performances by the burlesque troupe I’m a member of. A head full of curls bounces and catches the eye in a fabulously stage- and film-friendly way.
Our poor seamstress always gets stuck doing my hair. She does an amazing job, but I should really save her the trouble!
I wonder if I should get foam rollers or learn to do it with a curling iron?
