I am hoping, just hoping, that I can become more organised. Is it too late to start at 43? 4 years ago

I hate top ten lists, but I want to make lists of movies, books, restaurants, bars, parks, etc. Things and places I like, for me, so I don’t forget. Otherwise, I get stuck in a rut, and go to the same old places, or forget things that influenced me in the past. One great thing about books and movies that infuence you is to re-experience them many years later. It gives you a perspective on how you have changed. Art can be the same way- how you interpret things will change over the years. 4 years ago

1. I am a very passionate person.
2. I have 2 dogs
3. I moved from massachusetts
4. I’m now in virginia…. yay…
5. Playing guitar is a very important part of my life.
6. I Dont remember when i had my first girlfriend.
7. Alot of people i’ve dated have been mistakes.
8. I love the one i’m goin out with now, no mistakes there.
9. I want to make guitars, because…. i love guitars, plus i want to make them with devin, we should open up a store :)

1. Having double fat ‘rustic’ camembert, baguette, red wine, adsl, spliff, candles, sleeping kids and folk alley all in the same place.

2. Painting ugly furniture in happy colours despite everyone else’s better judgement :)

3. Seeing kids smile real happy gappy-toothed smiles

4. Writing lots of twaddle knowing that paper is abundant in the modern world

5. Seeing The Mirror go back to football and entertainment stories rather than scaring everyone’s heads off about rucksack carrying ‘dark-skinned people’ plotting to steal our “freedoms” à la Bush.

6. Not deleting my blissful moment list by accident when I’m half-way through

7. Having a rare moment of culinary acceptability

8. Hearing Jim Blum play a song by someone who loves bald-headed men before going on to a Brazilian rhythm before announcing ‘I’m Jim Blum’ (I do love Random Stuff). i mean, who else on earth would do that?

Just to get things off chest so I can be relaxed again. I may report on progress if I manage to lose it in a big burst of self-righteous rage to the point where I actually listen to the other point of view and get convinced…

Pet Peeves, first installment

1. when ppl turn up uninvited and stay all day on the first day of holiday, after 355(? how many in a year again?) days of dreaming about being aloooone and doing bugger all

2. when ppl imply the thing you set your heart on doing isn’t possible (they just lack imagination) and even worse, they invoke “clock”-driven arguments

3. when social convention forbids you from screeching ‘Give me a break – I’ve got PMT!

4. when ppl who are fat tell you that you eat the wrong foods

5. when you’re feeling really vulnerable and wish everyone would just give you a big hug and they don’t :(

6. when all your electrical appliances have the other country’s plug on them

7. when you wake bolt upright in bed at 5am stressing about some work thing (that isn’t going to change the world, it just feels that way at 5am)

8. when you don’t write to people you really care about because you can’t find the good words

9. when you can’t find your Cat Stevens CD (a recurrent theme, I know)

10. cooking for people with a palette (sp?). You’re lucky to have food! stop being such a snob!

Okay, that last one is unjustified, given my cooking skills. Wow I feel loads better now! 6 years ago

I have no idea why I’m here, except that delicious list-making addictive pleasure. The bonus is ‘meeting’ some finely creative and interesting people.
