Michelle is ensuring this year turns out well.
I finished! Everything from Ch. 1 to Ch. 22 is written. Now one last revision (to take place over the weekend) and I will be ready to put it out into the world!

I have two and a half chapters left in the first (well, 3rd draft of ch. 1-7, 1st/2nd of later chapters) draft, which I hope to finish by tomorrow. Then I’m taking a break for a week and I’ll start the revisions next weekend!
I’m a teen who is currently writing a book. I was once very confident that people would like it but now I’m not so sure. I read this blog about this young women who wrote a book at thirteen and people could tell. I don’t want people to read my book when it’s published and say, they knew I was young. I want it to be loved regardless, I want to write a wonderful book that all can read. I pray people will like it. Anyone in the same position? And if anyone had any suggestions about what teens like to read about it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
drownedindreams feeling okay.
I just realized how much I love to write… and I also realized that I have to start writing something… I don’t know if i’ll end up writing a book, but I just wrote Chapter 1 so that’s a start. Maybe this sounds silly, but i’m so proud for doing that and just realizing what I really love doing…
Why must I write about wanting to write when I could be writing right now? Hrmph.

it’s been hard trying to write again but it’s finally coming out.
teachmetolove is getting it done!
Not only am I confident I will, at some point, accomplish this goal, I’m confident that it will be a great book. Honestly, a really great book. You will read it. Oprah will read it. Everyone with a set of eyes and the gift of literacy will read it, or at least want to. There will be a big, wooden display table right inside the doors of Barnes & Noble devoted to me and the books (I’ll be pressured into writing several books, I’m sure, after my debut kills the bestseller list). Just wait, I’ll make millions. Even if I don’t, it’ll be a great book regardless, but then I’ll have to find a different outlet to pay off my college debt. Woof.

I’ve sent the first 6 chapters of the 2nd draft to people to read over. I’m going to send 6 more at the end of the week and then the rest next week. Then I can start working on the 3rd Draft. I’m sending the fourth off Nov. 3 (but it will be finished by Halloween)!
That way I can work on NaNoWriMo in November, along with another idea I’ve been developing that really has me excited. So much writing to do and so little time.
It makes me so happy though. :)

plugging away.
every day i finish one chapter in rough form. with this draft i have two goals: 1) get between 3000 and 4000 words and 2) get the story down without letting the perfectionist side of me go back to “correct.”
i have a prologue and the first four chapters written, today i’m working on chapter 5. (i’m thinking it will end up somewhere around 20).
i feel really good that i’ve done this every day and haven’t allowed myself to edit it at all, or even read what i’ve written.
when this rough draft is done i’ll update again :)
