Go to the Nordic Roots Festival

we were too overwhelmed and stressed to go to any of the concerts today. So no Hurdy Gurdy or Hoven Droven tonight. I wish I could have given the passes to some friends. We had these dumb nontransferable bracelets. Won’t do that again. I didn’t know that would be the case till I got the confirmation letter a week or so ago. :(

Still, had a good time at the shows we saw.

I am unhappily working on a conference presentation. BUT, if I stop psyching myself out and finish this damn thing, maybe I can still make the final concert at 8:00 pm. What do you think? After all, how often does one get to hear two master hurdy gurdy players together?

Big crowd of avid folkies. !st group, Waltz With Me was pretty good. Vasen was really stupendous. I can totally see why people really like them. And who knew nickelharpe could be such a rockin’ instrument? Totally excellent.

Might have to skip the afternoon concert today. Only so much that is humanly possible. Maybe should have thought about that before buying the passes, though I thought we would have regular tickets I could give to a friends, but we have these goofy bracelets that you can’t share.

Must rouse Biblio from nap asap since doors open in a mere 20 minutes or so. Vasen and Waltz With Me play tonight.
A well deserved treat for us both.
