and after the fifth time, you tend to just let them run with it… smile, laugh (really- laugh, its ok to laugh. some jokes are still funny the 23rd time you hear them). and sometimes, even when you HAVE heard it before, you forget the punchline..
When you don’t have to think about the answer, you can watch the person recanting to you. And that memory might be more precious than you realize later in life.

i found this goal on ringadinggirls list and liked it so much i put it on my list too. it´s such a simple and gentle way to make somebodys day a little nicer.

I always feel really stupid when I go to tell a joke or anecdote and someone tells me I’ve already told them. It makes me feel stupid. So unless someone starts a joke or anecdote with “I think I might have told you this already” or some such, I won’t stop them because it’ll just make them feel embarrassed and the 30 seconds of my time, two minutes tops if it’s a long one, are worth saving them that embarrassment. It’s really not that big a deal to hear it again.
