Now that the weather out here has finally turned fall-like, I need to get back in the knitting habit. I want to make some wintery things this year!
- A scarf to get back in the swing of things.
- A hat to go with it.
- Fingerless glove/mitten-things.
- A nice, warm scarf for my Kevin.
- A simple sweater, ideal for a first try.

Project for this week: Teach myself some basic knitting techniques!
I haven’t forgot everything I know, but it’s been awhile and I need a little refresher course. I’ll pull out my Stitch n’ Bitch books this week and do some practicing. I’m inspired because I have an acquaintance who does lovely projects such as this. I have big aspirations. Heh.

Things To Do:
1. Learn to cast on properly, once and for all!
2. Knit a hat to go with the scarf I finished awhile back.
3. Make a jersey-type scarf out of the fabric that’s just sitting around in the closet.
4. Get a power cord for the sewing machine in the closet.
5. Reconstruct the clothes I put aside to be ripped apart or get rid of them.

Knitting Again
Had to re-teach myself how to knit yesterday. It’s been so long since I’ve done any that I’d forgotten how to purl correctly. After a few failed attempts, I picked it right back up. I’m doing a simple 1×1 ribbed scarf with multi-colored yarn just to get myself going again.
I know that I’m still not casting on correctly. They way I’ve done it works alright for something simple like a scarf, but will become a problem with anything more complicated. I really need to get someone to show me what I’m doing wrong. Can anyone out there recommend a good video tutorial? All the examples I have in books are confusing me terribly.
