I lived there for a weekend- it was so beautiful! It was on a vast lake surrounded by train tracks and gorges.
How to live in a cottage in the mountains
It made me
Fulfilled 
"We moved up to northwestern Washington State, and found a house in the foothills of the Northern Cascade mountains near Mt. Baker. It is spectacular here!"
How I did it: We kept looking and stumbled across this great place for sale, and bought it. We had to adapt to the idea of living somewhere more remote; we also got a large dog because there can be bears and such around here. Our dog is fantastic. We also have learned to deal with our trash, and to generate much less trash, and to become self-sufficient in a lot of ways. We really did this by the grace of God and by knowing that we loved the mountains; I took a job near here and then we just kept looking for the place that really spoke to us that this was the one. I love living here!
Lessons & tips: It is not as easy as you think to live somewhere like this. There is more snow than down below, and you are a ways from most conveniences, and we only have dialup internet. But it is worth it, if you like this kind of thing.

I don’t exactly plan on living as much as perhaps vacationing for a few months… the whole Little House on the Prarie idea is one of the most appealing ones to me. I hope to do this atleast once in my life, insha’Allah :).
