There was a huge storm in Warsaw. I was watching the lightnings and I thought “hey, why not taking a pic of the lightning?”. Then I took my camera and sat in the window wide open waiting for good moment to press the button. The moment came and what? my camera didn’t react immediately… Again and again…. I tried to change the settings but I couldn’t. So I’ve decided to sit and take a photo of the sky without lightning hoping that it will appear during the process of taking a pic (one sec? I don’t really know…). And guess what – I did it! maybe the photo isn’t the best but I still can say that I have caught the moment when lightning appears.

Nikkormat FT3, Kodak Max 400, 50mm lens at f/11, probably about a 2-3 second exposure with a cable release, a sturdy tripod, and a very cooperative late September storm. Kick ass.

I think I need to adjust my camera speed. Anybody know what kinda speed you need to be set at to capture pictures of Lightning?
