I’m a French major, so hopefully this goal isn’t too long in coming. :) Completed 2 years so far, REALLY enjoying reading books in French. Now if I could just understand it better when it’s spoken…
DaringDaphne has been a non-smoker for 72 days and counting! :)
I knew a fair amount of French in high school (landed a 4 on the AP exam), but have forgotten most of what I knew over the past eight years. I really miss being able to “think in French.” I know that my vocabulary would come back quickly if I would only immerse myself again.
I am going to be taking a French class at my local community college in January… just a little over 2 months left until I start. :) I would love to spend time in France someday and I want to be prepared with the language before that day comes.
astroballerina is feeling a bit better.
I just found out about a wonderful immersion course in Villefranche-sur-Mer… I wonder when I’ll have the time and money for it…?
J’ai fait du français dans l’université mais mon français n’est pas encore très terrible! je regrette de ne pas l’avoir assez appris quand je pouvais.
mais je veux encore le parler couramment et je vais faire plus des efforts:)
My boyfriend and I have booked a holiday in December to Paris for a couple of days; so excited! I’m also going in the Easter holidays with school for a week and hopefully all this will help improve my French. My teacher is talking about organising an exchange and some penpals too for my class – I started to realise today that my spoken French isn’t as good as it was last year; must keep practicising!
TOO MANY RULES. WWAHHHHH
Slowly going insane. Sigh negatives used to be so easy.
By the time I finish sixth form I’ll have been learning French for 7 years. Wow. Hopefully by then I’ll be fluent, or at least good enough so that university French doesn’t just fly over my head. I got an A* at GCSE but at A Level it’s getting tough.
idsallute is studying
studied it for almost half my life but i cant really boast about how fluent i am.”After all, Practice makes perfect!”
I don’t know how to fit it in my schedule either…
Wish me luck!
I love the French language, I’ve been a fan as long as I could remember. Finding the motivation and time to apply to learning it was the tough part. I don’t want to go through my life without taking time to make use of opportunities around me to better my French-speaking skills.
While the ability to simply converse in French is something I found to be useful on my awesome Parisian adventure last summer (which me and a friend blew waaay too much of our money on) I want to be able to go further! To be able name the bones in the human body, to pick up slang of the locals, and to understand it almost or as well as I do English.
I figure if it’s something I want to do, then I’ll have to start sometime.. why not sooner than later?
