The more law abiding people that are armed the better chance we have of stopping crime. “When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.”

kmom2468 is knee deep in the hooah!
My not-currently-active-duty US Marine husband taught me how to be a safe and acurate shooter beyond what the CCW requires. We took the class together, took our tests at the same time and qualified on the range at the same time… except he qualified on like 10 different makes/models. Me, I just qualified on one – a lady smith revolver – fits my hand, point and shoot. I have a Walther P22 that is also small enough to fit my small woman’s hand. I need to get my act togther and qualify on it, too. I don’t always carry, but I live in a rural area. I’m not too worried about the 4-legged critters like the coyotes… but some of the 2 legged ones worry me. So, anyway, I’m all finger-printed, background checked, and the Feds know all about me :) So you know it won’t be ME who does anything illegal with a gun :)

I submitted the paperwork and did the electronic fingerprints last week! Note: once you get your permit, be sure to stay on top of the renewal. Otherwise, you have to go through the painful application process alllll over again (speaking from experience).
My first gun was a springfield XD-9 (midsize 9mm). Great gun and packed with passive safeties (no manual safety, but, has the trigger safety, the hand grip safety, chambered notifier and cocked notifier).
Sold that one and got a little Raven .25 acp. Bought this one for when i got my carry permit the first time… it’s a point-and-shoot, fit in the palm of your hand sort of gun. Spent a whopping $75 bucks before fees and taxes at a pawnshop.
I still have that one but have upgraded to a Kahr PM9 (the smallest 9mm concealable and accurate gun I could find).

Also just got a Glock 19… quite possibly my favorite handgun I’ve ever shot.
