How I did it: I had preordered my ticket, and didn't tell my mom. Then when I asked she said NO! Not until I had a job. And in this economy...that's no small task. I didn't get a job, but I applied to 10 places and told her that it was the one thing I wanted to do this summer. She ended up allowing me to go when I asked again to know whether or not to sell my ticket. I think she turned around when she found out I already had the ticket, and that it would just be unfair to not let me go, since she wouldn't let me out of the house for the past month or so. One thing for the summer isn't much to ask for. So I called my best friends -and also my warped tour companions- and we all became excited and discussed time of departure, bands, our excitement, and how cool my sunglasses were. We left at 7am the next day, and spend the entire day on our feet!

Lessons & tips:

1. It would have really gone smoother if I had known before I bought the ticket that I could go for sure.
2. Wear sunscreen, and apply it multiple times during the day. I got a little burnt, but I saw people with reallly pink backs.
3. Make sure you get there on time. We got there at about 11:30, and we thought that bands started playing at 12:00. We missed Less Than Jake, my favorite band there =[
4. Watch for crowd surfers. I got kicked once. Then I was more alert.
5. Meet one of the bands! We went to two signings, for There For Tomorrow and VersaEmerge. And I got my picture taken with the latter!
6. There were people from smaller bands going around asking you to listen to their music, and selling their cds, usually for around $10. But they're very open to haggling. I got 2 cds each for only $4 because I hesitated when they said $10. And when they said $8. And when they said $6. lol
