Letters and Cards and Packages oh my! 4 months ago

Oh, and emails. I’ve sent them all. I’ve received a letter and a couple of emails. Seems like a nice guy. In fact, I should return the email now and get another card in the mail.

I should say I am doing this 5 months ago

But I haven’t DONE this. I adopted a soldier from adoptaplatoon.com. I’ve sent several cards/notes and 1 care package. I received my first letter from him the other day and am enjoying the correspondance. I hope that, if nothing else, getting a piece of mail brightens his day.

On top of that, my Shelly Belly is in Kuwait and I’m writing her the same time I write him. She loves it.

I support our troops who are fighting in the war♥ I want to write to a soldier and let him know that I want to make his ployment wherever he may be a little more pleasant♥ I will pray for you and care for you like you’re my own. I’m looking forward to building a platonic relationship with any soldier who would like it. I’m supportive and never judgemental♥ If it makes you happy…then I’m happy♥ I will incessantly write and email♥ I would be proud and honored to be your angel♥ I signed up on adoptaussoldier.org so now I’m just waiting to get assigned a soldier!!!♥ 1-1-2009

I don’t support war, and I don’t support the excuses that our government has given to be in this war. That doesn’t matter, though. I would not be supporting the government by adopting a soldier; I would be supporting an individual, a human being, who is probably in a rough spot and could use a friend. So that’s the idea.

    My Soldier! 2 years ago

I finally got my soldier information he is SSG Matthew Rubins, and I’m very excited to start writing to him. I’ve e-mailed him to let him know who I am. Let the excitement ensue! I’ll update from time to time to say how he is fairing.

    I’m very excited.

    Soon! 2 years ago

I should be getting assigned my soldier any day now! I’m very excited about doing this. Showing my soldier support, sending care packages and what not. I signed up on the 10th, and tomorrow is the 15th, so hopefully in the next two days or so! Yay!

In the process! 2 years ago

Well I’ve registered with adoptaussoldier.org, and I am awaiting assignment of my soldier. My concern is I’m not big on words what do I say to them besides….”Thank you for sacrificing your life.” Any opinions? I would like to send a care package as well…I’m excited!

    Adpopt a U.S. soldier 2 years ago

No politics here. Just show your support for our (your/my) brothers, sisters, moms, dads, uncles…....you get the idea. They need to know YOU remember them and love them without regards to your feelings about a/the war.
personal items, snacks, and rec. items. It ain’t cheap to adopt nor is the blood of our sons and daughters.
Go to http://adoptaussoldier.org or just Google adopt a soldier. You’ll find hunreds of U.S. servicemen and women that are waiting to hear from you.
I hope none of you ever feel the loneliness of battle, the boredom and terror. Pray for those that do.
