Figure out how to do the online postage/carrier pickup thing for my online sales

It's too much work in my case 11 months ago

If I did a ton of eBaying, or had my own scale, it might be worth it. But I mostly ship books (media mail) and you can’t buy media mail rate online through USPS. And to buy it through PayPal the item has to have been paid with PayPal, which my books are not. Maybe I should switch to Half.com and then that would work. Since I don’t own the scale, my BF does, but the printer and items are at my house, that’s a lot of hauling stuff around. It would be a lot easier to just take to the Post Office and be done with it. We have a contract unit in a grocery store near us so the hours are pretty convenient, it’s just a matter of doing it. For now, this is not worth it. But at least I know!

Problem is, I need a nice scale like my BF has. You have to enter the weight when you are buying postage online. But it seems silly to buy one when he already has one . . . it’s just as much work to, say, go to his house, weigh the book and come home to print out postage as it would be to go directly to the Post Office. So either I need a scale like his, or I should move my printer to his place!! :0

Another alternative would be to weigh each book as I list it, but I don’t sell them all, so that seems like a waste of time.

Or I could just buy a scale. Not sure I send enough stuff to make the purchase of the scale “outweigh” the savings in time. Ha ha!
