Sands66 hoping for more cheers and for more people to share my goals
I WILL do this.
Even though I don’t know where i’ll be in 2012 I actually registered to become a volunteer yesterday.I might not be successful in getting in. I just thought it would be a good way of getting involved and to keep this goal active for the next 4 years. Fingers Crossed!!!
Team GB were amazing in Beijing this year. I’m absolutely certain that in London 2012 we will definately finish 3rd overall. I’m going to be there. From this month i’m starting my ‘Olympic Fund’ – £100 a month until 2012 to pay for my tickets to the events.
quinnbot got a job and feels fabulous!
I’ve been to London several times, before, when I was not living hand-to-mouth. I love it. The Tate Modern is my temple. And, I’ve always wanted to go to an Olympics, since my foggy memories of the 1984 Olympics.
- tickets go on sale in 2011. it’ll cost me around $1000 to go to a handful of events that aren’t free (cycling, marathon…)
- hotel! this is where I’ll be hit hardest. probably $1500, at the cheapest. I should find some buddies to make this cheaper.
- flight! UGH. overseas flights are so expensive. think $1200, if purchased far enough in advance
This will cost minimum $5000/person. I’d better get savin’.
I’ve always wanted to go to england and I wanted to go to the 2008 olympics, but now I get to kill 2 birds with one stone (: So I hear the tickets are going to be really expensive in 2012, does anyone know how expensive they will get?
I love london (born there!) and have never been to the olympics, so i wanna go then!
One of my best friends and I have been saying that we’re going to go to Europe the summer we graduate high school…which happens to be 2012. Plus, one of my other friends, who does gymnastics, has the goal of being there, so that would be awesome. It’s a long ways away though…
