I downloaded a templete for an Atc envelope, getting closer. The local art colony is starting their meetings next month and I will be attending. So very soon I should have this done. April has been crazy, with a wedding I am involved in. After this week things should settle down.

How I did it: I checked out the 'rules' of ATC (artist trading card) making to find out how everyone else defines them. Then I cut a bunch of blank peices of thick paper (like thin cardboard) and I started working on them. Everything from abstract colours and lines, all the way up to layering with hand-drawn art (bits of the paper) or adding objects like stamped pewter. It was a lot of fun, and not nearly as hard as it seems! Read how I did it…

KatheD is starting to think there may be time to accomplish something
The Life and butterfly card are remakes of my first two cards, and I still don’t like them as well as the others. The cupcakes are a remake, too. This set are intended to be doorprizes at a Stampin’ Up! workshop. I was concentrating on Bold Bright colors, but I’m not sure why YoYo Yellow was dominating.

This was actually my third card, I don’t really like the first two. They’re still on display in the guest room, though. ;)
My love of this little artform has survived the harrowing brush with the insane world of ‘swapping’ (on places like swapbot.com)... I learned to dislike the swapping thang, but I have still clung to my love of the ATC. What a fun thing!
I taught it to the kids I was watching last year, and this year they’ve infected all thier schoolmates with the ATC bug- and their school would like to do a ‘guest artist’ program, where they are taught to do projects by local artists- starting with ATC’s! (laughs) Very cool!
I’ve really been focusing my time on scrapbooking but I have not given up on this goal.
Have not done any ATCs lately but I have completed 5 scrapbook pages in the past month so I’ll give myself some credit there.
Okay, so it’s been a while since my goal was to learn how to make ATC’s… but MAN am I hooked now! I’m just totally overtaken by the concept of a tiny little work of art on a tiny little card (2.5” by 3.5”) that is traditionally only traded or given, instead of sold. I love it… totally addicted! Yay!
I recently made two scrapbooks pages about my grandson and his parents. They were a “Max and Mommy” and “Max and Daddy” theme. So then I took 3 small photos and made ATC bookmarks for all of them,,,:-)
I made a scrapbook page of a day at the beach that I spent with a friend. Then I used the same paper and embellishments to make an ATC for her. She really seemed to like it but I forgot to take a picture before I gave it away.
ixyk hasn't logged in to 43 things for months!1
and they’re addictive. I want to make more more more!
