Markov is one of those 43ers that who will frequently throw a surprise at you. It’s not that he’s unpredictable, but he just has facets that you wouldn’t expect to see right off. He’s remarkably intelligent and has a deadpan sense of humor. He’s definitely someone to expect crazy things from. Here are my wishes for him for the coming year:

May he have the time to exercise regularly, especially cycling 5000 miles this year. May he have adventurous travels whether it be seeing an active volcano or kayaking in Baja. And may he find balance in his life.

Markov, hope your day was spectacular. I see you are gone to the wild. And there was quite a bit of monkeying around – there’s not a banana to be found for the daiquiri I was going to make you.

So, I am extending a real invitation to you. For a real daiquiri. A pre-railway 43T meet up in Emeryville at the Emerygrill Saturday evening of Labor Day weekend around 7:30 pm. And of course, if you can hop aboard the Coast Starlight for a few stops or a lot of stops, we can party with the rest of the 43Ters getting together for the west coast train railway meet up that ends up in Seattle Sunday night.

I’m so sorry I was not around on your birthday, the hurricane did some messing up the net for awhile.

I hope this birthday year is blessed with much travel and sunshine. May you find the answers you seek and the joy you deserve.
