I got an attic-room for my books: no straight walls for large bookshelves there, no ladders neccessary.
But it’s a nice room, though. ;-)

I’m afraid, the budget for my cool-rolling-ladder-bookshelf is no longer existent and we’re now looking into other possibilities. I thought of something that would still look nice (a bit like on this picture – I still love Ikea) and simply costs a lot less.
Let’s see… I still keep on dreaming of my very own library. =)

We saw them in a shop this morning and they were perfect. The shelves were strong enough for all the books and the ladder looked just really cool (it wasn’t a really nicely rolling one, but it’s a ladder… I guess that counts?). I’m looking forward to getting my little library/playing/drawing-room (well, for me AND the kids!) in the new house.
Yeah, I am well on my way to collecting enough books… Now I just need a house with a big spare room and a ladder on wheels.

When I packed to move out of the McMansion, the only thing that exceeded my boxes of books (by count) was my boxes of kitchen stuff.
For my next house, I’d love to have two walls of the living area with floor to ceiling bookshelves that I could append the rolling ladder to – I think it would be too cool!

...is complete. I have a library. Sort of. Well, I have enough books for one, but for a rolling ladder I’d need the proper shelves too. And I can’t take them ALL with me to uni!
