for substitute teaching. There were about two dozen people there total. So, I am now on the roles as a substitute teacher (I even got an ID card), so now, I just have to get an assignment. We’ll see. They have an online system and I can log in about ten hours in advance and see what is available. After I’ve worked some, I’ll move up in the priority list and have more opportunities available, and have them available earlier.

So, while it opens the avenue for jobs, I don’t technically have a job (and I’m not technically an employee of the school district), so until I work at least once or twice and have an idea of how often I might get opportunities, I am going to leave this on my list. Maybe I’ll move it down just a smidge, though. :)

from one of the school systems to which I applied as a substitute and I am to go to an orientation on January 6th. I am supposed to bring two forms of ID, a copy of my college transcripts (ordered online this afternoon), and a voided check for direct deposit. I suppose this means that I likely have, at least, some part time employment starting in January? Well, we shall see. I will wait until after the orientation before marking this goal as complete. :)

Not a lot, but some. No calls yet, though.

Hubby thinks that maybe I should concentrate on getting a “starter” job. You know, like a part time, easy job (like retail or something seasonal) just to get me back in the swing of things. He is worried about me and how I don’t handle some stressors so well.

Well, we’ll see. Anyone have any thoughts to share?

Geez, I need to go shopping . . . I have nothing appropriate to wear for an interview! Guess I’m going to Kohl’s this weekend. :)

I just had an unexpected phone interview. I think I managed to do well enough, though, as she said that I would be hearing from someone, hopefully today, to schedule me for an in person interview early next week.

So . . . we shall see.

from the one that interests me the most so far . . . she wanted to know my availability in the fall (it is a school year job, I think). I responded . . . so hopefully I will hear something from her soon. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Ideally, it will be something part time to start, since I have really been out of the workforce (at least outside the home) for a very LONG time. We’ll see, though.
