Just waiting on some $$$$$$$$$$!
Need frames, and lots of them… that is the scariest part due to their ridiculous prices. Looking for large Chuck Close prints but there really aren’t too many that I prefer. Also looking for Gustav Klimt prints, a wooden/bamboo screen, and branches or pussywillows to put on my dresser. I have all the furniture I need except a coffee table and maybe an end table.
Damn you money!

I stopped by Hancock Fabric and nearly fainted at the price of materials needed to make my pillows. The pillow forms alone cost more than I usually spend on ready-made pillows, and the fabric was $12 and $15 a yard, respectively. So I decided to look at ready-made pillows to see if I could do better.
I did. Found the blue ones at Kohl’s for $8 apiece. Later, R and I went to JCPenney’s to look at bed pillows (he loves my pillows, and wanted to buy me new ones so he could have mine). While we were there, we found cream vinyl ones that match my couch – $11 apiece. The sweetheart bought me those, too.
Those four pillows cost less than it would have had I made two pillows.
Now I just need floor pillows.

I haven’t done anything about this. I am constantly bogged down by job-related stress and the emotional rollercoaster ride that my girlfriend puts me through.
I should start making plans, because my apartment doesn’t feel like a refuge anymore. It’s now an extension of work and a constant reminder of unfinished projects. For the next couple of weeks, I’m going to do something decent for my living room and kitchen. I’ll have the money and the time by then.
Love this Ikea bed frame as it will go well with my other furniture http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S69849241
Except how can I best tie people down with NO BED POSTS? Should I drill eye hooks into the back for the ropes to tie through? Serious, people.
p.s. I saw 10,000 wine corks were in the Free section of Craigslist. So pissed I wasn’t in state to get them and cover a wall.

Well, they were to go with the coat rack, which will have mosaic on the doors.
I haven’t done the mosaic yet, but I will most assuredly have tiles left over.
And am now planning to cover a jar (for flowers? Odds n ends? Who knows?) and two candleholders with the leftover tiles. They’ll sit atop the coat rack.
I’m just having to restrain myself from actually gluing the tiles on the jar and candleholders until I finish the doors…I don’t want to use up all the tiles and then not have enough for the initial project!
I think I need help…some mosaic 12-step program. Or maybe I should just do a table. A big project like that might curb my fascination with gluing little glass tiles to things and surrounding them with grout.
Pictures of the finished project(s) to come, of course.
Now that I have an apt and my own room, I need to decorate it well!!
sooooo_hollywood is booooored!!!
My roommate and I moved into our apartment back in February and have yet to decorate it at all! When we first moved in we had soo many plans for this place, but we have not done anything we were going to! I have started on a collage for my bedroom wall, but other than that nothing! We got a really nice vintage style couch, but it is very small and uncomfortable… I feel so bad for the people we have over.. they have no where to sit at all.

Worth doing!
Went to Ikea…spent $900. My apartment looks much better now…just need to hang up some pictures.

I think I’ve found the fabric I want for my throw pillows and floor pillows. For the throw pillows, I’m thinking a smoky blue silk-like material (machine washable, though). For the floor pillows, ivory vinyl (to go with the couch). If the fabric swatches I saw on Hancock’s site are accurate, I’ve found both. The only catch is they’re both $6.99 a yard…and I need a lot of both to do the pillows. So…we wait until I accumulate some more money.
