How to go to morocco

How I did it: I thought about going alone. I thought about taking a tour. But both were terrifying to me. One extreme to the other, either throw myself alone for a month in a foreign land or ride around an air conditioned tour bus with a name tag on. So I found middle ground with an adventure tour company called Intrepid Travel. They have really small groups, there were 5 of us. We have a "group leader" who basically takes care of getting us hostels and taxis. There is no set schedule, you go from town to town and do your own thing. Only you know you've got other people to explore with and talk to at the end of the day if you'd like. Anyway, it's very low budget, like if I'd gone to Morocco alone. No fancy stuff, using only local transport, staying only at local establishments, and really living among the people. Morocco is gorgeous! I stayed 25 days and traveled all over the country. My favorite place is Essaouira, and if I return, that is the first place I'll head to.
Lessons & tips:
- Brush up on your French.
- You cannot get Moroccan currency until you get into the country.
- Ladies and gents, cover those legs! No need for headwraps, but wear a hat if you sunburn.

totally worth it. amazing culture and people. full of color. loved it. hopefully i can be fortunate to be able to go again one day. all i can say as a piece of advice is DONT eat anything but cooked veggies if you dont want to get sick…
I went this year and had a great time. Take a trek up Mt Toubkal. It’s amazing. Stay at the Kasbah du Toubkal if you get a chance for a night or two. Essaouira is beautiful. Try Villa Maroc. Late April is a super time to go, not too hot yet!

omg! MOROCCO IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE I HAVE EVER SEEN!!! being 100% moroccan, i would know. i got there every year, and i never get tired of it. it’s just so peace ful, its so amazing
