I really appreciate drawing and wish to become good.
How I did it: I practiced on and off through childhood, but taking a class really helped me become disciplined. The more you practice, the easier it becomes and the more accurate your hand is. Having a class kept me disciplined because I'm not really a self-starter.
Lessons & tips: Practice! Draw stuff that seems "too hard." You don't have to show anybody if it looks bad, and if you keep practicing, eventually it will look "right." Draw every day if you can because it keeps up the hand-eye coordination.

Started carrying my sketchbook around everywhere. I need a smaller one.

I think I’m improving, just a bit. I’m drawing almost every day.
I’m starting to be just a little closer to putting things on paper as I see them in my head, which is exciting, though I’m still not very close.
I might start a webcomic diary to keep me doodling something every day.

I have to say that I’ve improved a lot this year, even though I’m not good per say. Considering I’ve only been seriously drawing since some time in 2007 I’d say things are coming along nicely. I don’t strive to become a famous artist or anything, I just want to be able to get my thoughts out onto paper when writing them out just doesn’t do it, and I’d like to start a small webcomic eventually. Any way, I just keep drawing and keep practicing and hope I’ll improve – hey, I already have.
Hi, my name is Ark, and ive always wanted to be able to learn to draw well, one of my best friends can draw amazingly well and i just want to be able to do even a portion of that, but sadly, i have not had the luck to learn because i dont know the fudimentals of it. Then, what’s worse, i took the drawing course in my highschool and the teacher i have is incompitant ._. So im learning nothing from her or that class. If some one could, could you please give me some advice on how to learn to draw well =(. and i mean like, drawing from the mind, not tracing what you see.
Last night, I went to Michaels Arts & Crafts store and bought a small sketch book, a small set of graphite pencils and tracing paper. I spent about 2 hours last night practicing on a faerie face and a toadstool. I think they turned out pretty good for my first attempt. I figure if I work at it for preferably an hour but minimum of 15 minutes each day, at the end of a year, I should be a decent beginner.
I ain’t talking about drawing happy faces and stick men. I’m talking about being able to draw like Michaelangelo or Titian.
My family thinks i am good i think i am a good drawer too you just have to practice a bunch.
I’m thinking of going to Julian Ashton, the art school at the Rocks in Sydney but I’m not sure. I think I will sit on this a bit. Not too long I hope!
