whatever career i finally chose I want to be successful in it and feel like everything that I did to get to that point was worth it.

I got a couple of course brochures for PG courses in my field. I can’t afford to study the courses but I have got the book lists so I can do some reading on my own.
I’m off to the library after work to pick some books up. Is it silly that I’m excited? I just want to learn more about my profession.
I was going to add “develop my career” as a goal but in the spirit of 43 things I wanted to share the goal with others so this is how it is titled.
By successful I am not thinking of money or power or anything like that. I will consider myself successful in my career when I have progressed higher (beyond starting level) and feel that I can call myself a professional. When I feel confident with my experitise. I have found a career area I enjoy and that is meaningful and satisfying. Although it may change slightly in the future I aim to keep to the same area.
There’ll be lots of other goals supporting this one, firstly preparing for my appraisal next month.
I can’t say I’ve done this yet, though really, will I be able to anytime in the next 10+ years? But I think, at long last, I’m on my way…
SazH is ill at home
After University, my dream is to become a criminal profiler, working with the police on murders etc… I’d also like to be a therapist, with my own offices with my name above the door. Working in a prison is also something i’d like to do, rehabilitating prisoners, like my cousin. I don’t want to end up some day time tv shrink or end up working some mundane office job. I’d like to work for myself, and maybe one day have people working for me.
I will have an interview next week for the job of assistant manager. Good luck to myself.
