Argh, I am following a conflicting goal right now, where I am starting my own company. I still want to do open-source.
I am thinking that if my project becomes successful, then publish parts of it under BSD (without nasty licenses). But this is far out it the future.
Well, I didn’t write Mongrel, but I did interview the guy who did. Hopefully this will help both Zed and I to a better job of making a living with Free Software.

And one user that I know of. I don’t understand why the adoption rate is so low – using it with Apple’s CoreData is a no-brainer. I suspect its too advanced for the average developer to grasp. Need to write some articles on how to use it effectively I think.

A pet Free Software project of mine (RWB) is suddenly applicable to work. My manager has given me full rein to spend some work time adding the bits I need to support our needs, and fold them back into the regular system.

That is the standard model…develop a novel new software platform of some sort, or killer app & then make all your money on the book that explains how to use it.
