Succeed at work

I’ve gotten a lot of praise for my work from my supervisors and am really happy to get the recognition. My supervisor forwarded an email from her boss saying what a successful hire I was (I started 12/1/08). Since I am starting over in NYC, I find work to be really rewarding and gets my mind going as it is busy and dynamic.

well it took a while but I finally got my raise, now I am working for $11/h and I have got more jobs to do in the office, which I like cause then I feel like I am actually working for my money.

Also at my other job I got promoted months ago and got a raise to $9.50 but the hockey season is almost over but I have asked to be transfered into the new resturant, still dont know when it is going to be opening but I would love to get some serving experience.

Work has been going really well for me. I found out that I am going to be getting a raise when my contract gets re-evaluated. Plus our company just won the New Business of the Year Award- Independant in our town, we all got to go to a fancy business dinner. It was really fun. Then on Tuesday I got to go to a meet for business people in my town, just for coffee so that everyone can extchange business cards. I still haven’t got my business cards yet so I felt kinda funny. But my boss is going to try and get me some soon and I get to go to all of the business meets in the future. I am excited because everything is working out so well.

Yesterday my boss asked if I would like to learn more, so I said yes. I am now studying to be Microsoft Certified. The test is going to cost my work $2500 american. And the other girl who was working here before me went back to school and said that she would come back when she was done will probably not be coming back so I get to move my workstation up to the frint desk. The owner of the company said that when my contract is being renewed the guys are going to talk about giving me a raise. I also just got another part time job for some nights and weekends. I applied on the weekend and had my interview yesterday and I start next week. It is a little job working at the new arena in town where our new team the Chilliwack Bruins play, WHL. I got that job so that I could have some extra money for x-mas but now i might be getting a raise so I am really happy.

Today I have been at my job for one month and I still like it. My boss told me that he liked how I get here early and he dosn’t have to get his keys out to get into the office because I have already opened up. I also got complmented in how I take inetiave (not too sure about the spelling). In my office there really isn’t much to do so I have been making charts on the computer to record phone calls and my bosses hours. I also have taught myself how to imput phone calls into our CRM program. They really like how organised I am. They said that their dream office would have no paper. I like that idea so that is why it is good that I have been making charts on the computer. There is nothing worse than papers all over you desk then you can’t find anything. I would rather open up a file (easy to find) and everything you need is there.

Next week the recipitionist from my work is leaving to go back to school so my hours are picking up I will be working one more hour a day. Not much but is shows as a difference on my paycheck. I am also going to be having a lot more responsibilities because I will be doing my work and hers and our book keeper is leaving so I will be taking over for her as well. I hope that I do ok because my contract is done in december and I want them to give me a better contract. Also I want to have a job for x-mas. (sorry if I have bad spelling)

I’m 19 years old and have graduated from College this past april. I am currently work in computers and I graduated with community support certificate so really my work does not relate to my schooling but this is what is manking me happy and paying the bills. I am currently on contract and my contract is up the first week of december so I feel like i have to work extra hard before then to prove that they need me. I have been working here now for three weeks and I have only learnt a couple of things but i have been trying to find things to do on my own does anyone have any advise in what i should be doing research on my products etc.?

I’m 18 years old, just finished school last year. I started working for a Government Department as a level 1 two months ago and I just applyed for a level 2 position and I got it!

I start in a month when my current contract runs out, but my goal at succeeding at work is getting there…!
