DoctorTeeth says, "Oh Sky Cake, why are you so delicious?"
I was gone towards the end of this goal but I enjoyed posting and reading about everyone’s refreshing summertime drinks. Let’s do it again soon; maybe fall favourites? Warming winter concoctions?

GREAT idea, Sally! Not only did I learn some new recipes, I was reminded of some old ones I used to love.

okay, so things didn’t go as planned with this goal this week, my internet connectivity issues have kept me off line, but somehow the whole thing was worth it – I’ll drink to that!

Hawk~ is on vacation! See you all at the end of November!
Refreshing? You want refreshing?
1. Campari & tonic. Over ice, squeeze lime. How much lime depends on size of glass. Then pour glass half full of Campari, and fill it the rest of the way with tonic. Some people will tell you to use an orange and club soda. Those people are wrong.
2. 110 in the Shade. First make yourself some jalapeno vodka by dropping a quartered, seeded jalapeno into a bottle of vodka. Take the jalapeno out after a couple of hours. Or a couple of days, if you like your scalp to sweat. Now, in a pint glass, pour in 12 oz. of good ale. Into the glass drop a shooter of your jalapeno vodka. It’ll make you sweat. It’ll make you groove.

I must contribute at least one cocktail-type recipe. I confess to adoring fuzzy navels, which I make by mixing equal parts of peach schnapps & orange juice over ice. I think that makes the fuzzy navel a bit more alcoholic than it’s supposed to be – but it’s SO yummy. :-)

1 part fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 part simple syrup (sugar dissolved in hot water, then cooled)
2 parts water
Serve over ice.
For a delicious variation, squish some mint leaves into the bottom of the glass first.

do anyone here use the bar tool called a muddler? I see all these recipes for things that call for squishing things, but nary a mention of a muddler
