have our home reflect us

We have done so much work, and theres still lots to go, but I think we’ve pretty well succeded. At least all the old icky wallpaper is gone, and its painted colors we like.

The rest will take time…as you cant just go out and buy everything you want and need to have your house look how you want it.

Its the process thats a blast,anyhow.

got our bedspread and finished our walls….loving it.(haha..just noticed the pile of discarded clothing,teddy bear and tissues in the corner.guess my house wont make the better homes and gardens top 100 cleanest houses anytime soon!!)

Its still unfinished,the color you see on the walls is actually what was under the wallpaper.More pictures as I get my camera to work(I found my kitchen table for $90 at a thrift shop,not too bad!!)

what an awesome feeling to be so comfortable in your own home.such an incredible feeling…...The hubby n I just had dinner at our little wrought iron table for two (egg pasta w artichokes,olives and parsley,salad and organic chicken sasuage) and now hes laying across the floor,napping, and I am sitting on the kitchen window seat looking around at the candles and clean,comfy house…......ah.life is good.

(As soon as possible,I’ll be posting some pics, the camera is a bit under the weather right now)the only rooms that need painting still are the kitchen and the spare bedroom. all the reast is done, and looks great. Alot of work, but so worth it to be able to come home and see such great colors and decor.

A thought strikes me…maybe people dont want to read every detail about our house…hmmm.Well, those of you who dont, keep traveling…hehe…those of you who find it interesting,read on. (besides, its almost like a record of events for ME because I will be able to look back and see the date and what I was doing. Ok, so anyhow, our tv/music room….almost done. I painted ALL of it, ceiling included, and it looks great. now we just need a couch for in there, or else we will be watching movies on the floor:)(update:we put our love seat in the entertainment room, and it fits perfectly.just need to get some pics up on the wall)

Its almost done!!!the walls are a rich milk chocolate brown,amazing color. and the last wall to be painted, whitch is behind our headboard, is going to be some sort of a burgandy color. I LOVE deep colors.Today im going to linens n things to see if I can find the bedspread of my dreams…in burgandy….then,combined w the wall as a backdrop,and our wrought iron headboard….oh la la….itll one passionate bedroom. now THAT reflects me!!!

tried to “rag” our bathroom, Jim came in, told me what i already knew, that it looked like garbage. I cried. Felt stupid for spending so much time to just make a big ole mess. painting rooms is NOT my thing. Im trying though.

we moved in weeks ago and still theres so much work to be done.I want to come home and feel like the walls and things around me reflect MY style. Right now, its someone elses: wallpaper,white walls, boring!!!! Room by room, I’ll get it done.

and lots to go.tonight we picked out the color for one of the spare bedrooms, whitch we will be using as our entertainment room, to watch tv in,etc. its called ‘japenese maple’ and it is well….the color of a leaf from said tree.I think it wil be the boldest color in the house, as the rest are going to be prety muted earth tones.
