Alright, now that I have an “adult” life I can buy decent stuff that fits and looks nice. There is no need for clothes that I bought in high school. (Really, I still have stuff from then!)At least 50% of the things I get rid of will probably be clothes. If I haven’t worn it in a year, it’s being donated to goodwill or the salvation army. I would like to reduce all my clothes to my dresser and only have my dresses and suits in the closet.
The next area to tackle will be my books. I do want a library in my house, but I think I need to start collecting books after I get a house. They were a pain to move and store in my apartment. The college text books should go. I might keep a couple because I do plan on going back to school, but not the 20 or so I have now! They will have resources at the school if I go for my masters anyways.
Finally, I am getting rid of things I keep because I don’t want to insult the giver. I have a few small items I have been given that I think are ugly, but don’t want to give away incase the giver (usually my mother) notices. They need to go.
I plan to carry out this mass exodus of items by the end of next week. (8/8/08) (That’s a nifty date…)
